Common issues and their solutions to help you get the most out of Product Data Boost.

Plugin Installation Issues

❌ Plugin won't activate

Possible Causes:

  • Incompatible WordPress version (requires 5.0+)
  • WooCommerce not installed or activated
  • PHP version too old (requires 7.4+)
  • Conflicting plugin

Solutions:

  • Update WordPress to the latest version
  • Ensure WooCommerce is installed and activated
  • Contact your hosting provider to upgrade PHP
  • Temporarily deactivate other plugins to identify conflicts

❌ Can't find the plugin settings page

Solution:

  • Look for "Product Data Boost" in your WordPress admin menu
  • If not visible, ensure the plugin is activated
  • Try refreshing your browser or clearing cache
  • Check that you have admin/manager permissions

API Connection Issues

⚠️ "Invalid API key" error

Solutions:

  • Double-check that you copied the entire API key from the Integrations page
  • Ensure there are no extra spaces before or after the key
  • API keys should start with ak_
  • Try regenerating your API key from the dashboard
  • Verify you're using the correct store (if you have multiple)

⚠️ "Connection failed" or "Cannot reach API" error

Possible Causes:

  • Firewall blocking outbound connections
  • Hosting provider restrictions
  • Incorrect API URL
  • SSL certificate issues

Solutions:

  • Verify your server can make outbound HTTPS connections
  • Check the API URL is set to default (don't change unless instructed)
  • Contact your hosting provider about firewall rules
  • Ensure SSL certificates are up to date on your server

Product Sync Issues

🔵 Products not appearing in dashboard

Solutions:

  • Wait a few minutes - initial sync can take time for large catalogs
  • Verify the plugin is properly connected (check API key)
  • Ensure products are published in your store (drafts aren't synced)
  • Check that you're viewing the correct store in the dashboard
  • Try manually triggering a sync from the plugin settings

🔵 Only some products synced

Solutions:

  • Check sync logs in your WooCommerce system logs
  • Verify all products are published (not drafts or private)
  • Ensure products have required fields (name, ID)
  • Large catalogs sync in batches - wait for completion
  • Check for PHP timeout or memory limit issues on your server

Enrichment Issues

🟣 Products stuck in "Scheduled" status

Solutions:

  • Wait 5-10 minutes - queue processing may be in progress
  • Check your account's enrichment credits/quota
  • High traffic periods may cause delays
  • Try refreshing the page to update status
  • Contact support if stuck for more than 30 minutes

🟣 Products showing "Failed" status

Possible Causes:

  • Product data is incomplete or corrupted
  • AI processing error
  • Service temporarily unavailable

Solutions:

  • Verify the product has a name and description in your store
  • Try manually re-enriching the product
  • Check if multiple products failed (may indicate service issue)
  • Contact support with the product ID for investigation

🟣 Enriched data is not accurate

Solutions:

  • Ensure your original product data is as complete as possible
  • AI works best with clear, accurate source data
  • Add more details to your original product description
  • Re-enrich the product after improving source data
  • Contact support for persistent accuracy issues

Performance Issues

🟢 Dashboard loading slowly

Solutions:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser
  • Check your internet connection
  • Disable browser extensions that might interfere
  • Use pagination to view products in smaller batches

Account & Billing Issues

🟠 Can't log in to account

Solutions:

  • Use the "Forgot Password" link to reset your password
  • Ensure you're using the email address you registered with
  • Check your spam folder for password reset emails
  • Clear browser cache and try again
  • Try a different browser or incognito mode

🟠 Enrichment quota exceeded

Solutions:

  • Check your current plan limits in settings
  • Upgrade to a higher-tier plan for more enrichments
  • Wait for your monthly limit to reset
  • Purchase additional enrichment credits if available
  • Contact sales for enterprise pricing options

General Debugging Steps

When experiencing any issue, try these general troubleshooting steps:

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies
  2. Try using a different browser or incognito/private mode
  3. Check the browser console for JavaScript errors (F12 key)
  4. Ensure all software is up to date (WordPress, WooCommerce, plugins)
  5. Check your server error logs for PHP errors
  6. Temporarily disable other plugins to rule out conflicts
  7. Switch to a default WordPress theme to test for theme conflicts
  8. Contact your hosting provider to check server resources
